The Pleasant Sunday Afternoon concert series are held from 2pm to approx 4.30pm on the first Sunday of the month, up to October 2nd. The CCSA Hall in Nutley St., Caloundra is the venue for these very entertaining variety concerts.
Hosted by Bev Gourlay, Neil Booth and Aart Schouten, these afternoons are a lot of fun, and apart from these 3 "performers", there are different artistes every month, and the $$s raised are for the Caloundra Chorale.
For June 6th, the artists are: singer/guitarist Alan Winter (singer with the S.C. Concert Band); Chorale member Judy Irvine - who will sing solos and a couple of duets with Fred Negus (he's also going to be "The Banner Man"); Genevieve Yates - a multi-talented lady who has written a very humorous act titled "Vivaldi will survive", in which she demonstrates her skill and his music on her violin; tenor Andy Hanrahan - who played the lead role of Jean Valjean in the Chorale's "Les Miserables" production and young singing sisters Genevieve and Bridget O'Brien.
General admission at the door is $9, or only $5 for Friends of the Chorale, and this includes afternoon tea. If you haven't been to one of these concerts why not give it a try. Enquiries: Bev 5444 8675.
